Sergeant Frank Nin has been employed by the Orange County Sheriffs Department for twenty-three (23) years, currently assigned to the Men's Jail. Throughout Sergeant Nin's career, he has worked in a variety of assignments including jail, patrol, general investigations, specialized enforcement investigation, juvenile investigations, and CIRT special weapons unit. Sergeant Nin received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Vanguard University and an Associates of Arts Degree from Golden West College. He is a current Associate Instructor for the Rancho Santiago Community College District. Sergeant Nin and his mount, "Murphy's law", became members of the Sheriff's Mounted Unit in 1995 and the California Mounted Officers Association in 1996. They excelled rapidly and became a positive force within the Sheriffs Mounted Unit. Sergeant Nin and Murphy's Law have dedicated themselves to training in a variety of equestrian disciplines, such as, basic natural-horsemanship, reining, high-school level dressage, and trick training. Sergeant Nin credits his equestrian knowledge and success as a rider and an instructor to the several equestrian trainers he has studied under. Sergeant Nin's passion for horses, dedication to law enforcement, and strong interest in Sergeant Nin currently serves as a POST certified instructor for the OC Sheriff's Mounted Unit, OC Regional Unit, and California Mounted Officers Association. He has taught MEU Basic and Advance Simunition Training; MEU Drug and Safety Program for Kids, MEU Patrol Procedures, MEU Baton and Arrest Techniques, MEU Formation and Mounted Drill; MEU Obstacle and Sensory Training, and MEU Color Guard Training.
